BLAZING BALLOON RIVERGATE TOWER
A bright red-orange balloon floats in front of Rivergate Tower in Tampa, Florida, USA alongside the downtown "Riverwalk" waterfront. The modern, distinct cylindrical building designed by architect Harry Wolf opened in 1988 and rises with grids of windows in a thirty-one-story layout. The contrast between the vibrant balloon and the muted architecture creates a striking visual effect.
BROADWATER BEACH MARINA LIGHT
A tall lighthouse stands on a storm damaged pier extending into the Mississippi Gulf Coast water in Biloxi, under a clear blue sky. Palm trees line the distant shoreline, adding a touch of greenery to the coastal scene. The large resort marina and lighthouse construction began in 1963 and was completed in 1965. The thriving resort and marina evolved from the original Broadwater Beach Hotel built in the late 1930s. The beachside complex was battered by Hurricane Camille in 1969 and then Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
BEAU RIVAGE MARINA LIGHT
On a windy day, along Mississippi's Gulf coast, the water surrounding the exterior of the marina ripples, fans out, and slaps against the breakwater beyond. The yellow hued lighthouse remains standing on a concrete corner of what once was an active marina, closed to use following storm damage. The last of daylight fades off, illuminating the right side of the structure in golden light.
EDGARTOWN LIGHTHOUSE SHORELINE
The Edgartown Lighthouse, re-built 1939 on the island of Martha's Vineyard, USA sits on the beach at the entrance to Edgartown Harbor. The beacon helps guide fishing boats and pleasure crafts in and around the spit of land it sits on in the channel between Edgartown and Chappaquiddick Island.
GASPARILLA ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE
The unmanned lighthouse was built in 1881 in New Jersey and became active first in Delaware as the Delaware Breakwater Rear Range Light. The second and current home location came when it was moved to and reassembled on Gasparilla Island in the late 1920's. Following refurbishment, it was lit up again in 1932. After nearly a century it was refurbished once more and is open for visits part of the year. Gasparilla Island is one of Florida's Gulf coast barrier islands and is just south of the town of Boca Grande. The island's beautiful white sand beaches are open to the public with paid parking.
SANDWICH BOARDWALK OVER SALTMARSH
In the town of Sandwich on Cape Cod, USA, a wood plank boardwalk spanning a vast coastal marsh, was recently rebuilt following storm damage. This is a pre-demolition section closest to the beach. The area lies near the entrance to Sandwich Harbor with the recently refurbished boardwalk extending from a parking lot and crossing over the Mill River leading to the coastal end where it reaches small sand dunes and the ocean.

Martha's Vineyard Island in Massachusetts, USA is home to picturesque gothic style homes. Many were built in the 1800's in the Victorian style with unique colors and whimsical architectural detailing.

PLASTERED WINDOW GREEN SHUTTER
A green shutter is mounted on a white brick wall, while an adjacent window opening reveals a plaster texture. A vertical downspout runs along the edge, adding contrast to the otherwise uniform stretcher bond brick wall structure. The brick pattern is also referred to as running bond with the longer, narrower brick faces overlapping approximately centered in the courses above and below.
CARNIVAL FERRIS WHEEL USA
Fourth Of July celebration at a carnival. The Ferris Wheel, or Chicago Wheel, was designed and constructed by George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. for the Chicago World's Fair (The World's Columbian Exposition), opened in 1893. Others constructed a wheel earlier for the New York State fair in 1854. Various forms of the wheel have been in existence as early as the 17th century.
UNDER THE SUNSHINE SKYWAY BRIDGE
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge crosses Tampa Bay between St. Petersburg and Terra Ceia, Florida, USA. It is comprised of a pair of beam bridges with a central cable-stayed bridge. It is protected by 36 structural dolphins to prevent ships from crashing into the pylon pier supports. Beneath is the shipping lane connecting Tampa Bay with the Gulf Of Mexico. It is also a destination area for day fishing by boat.

RAINBOW BRIDGE TO CANADA
Officially known as Niagara Falls International Rainbow Bridge, referred to as the Rainbow Bridge, the bridge connects the Mid-Atlantic state of New York, USA to Ontario, Canada across the Niagara River. It is a steel arch bridge opened in 1941 with the name reflective of the many rainbows that form in the misty area of the waterfall gorge.
PACIFICA CLIFF APARTMENTS DEMISE
Due to rugged Pacific coast weather, the apartments on the cliffs of the coastal town of Pacifica, succumbed to the elements. They were abandoned and have been completely removed from the cliff before falling to the beach below. Pacifica is just south of San Francisco, California.
ABANDONED RIVER MILL MAINE
In Newfield, Maine, USA, the Moulton Mill (formerly Adams Sawmill) sits decaying on the Branch Brook which flows out of Rock Haven Lake and under Maine Route 11 forming a mill pond. The Brook flows over the spillway under the mill and below into the Branch Brook watershed. The sawmill was built in the 1790's and purchased by the Moulton family in the 1880's with continued operation for the next one hundred years. In 1986 it was required to cease operations to meet water quality standards. The New England autumn colors are reflected in the old mill's broken windows. Since the photo was taken the structure has collapsed further.
ONTARIO CANADA ACROSS NIAGARA RIVER
On a beautiful autumn day, from the New York, USA side of the Niagara River, a clear view of Ontario, Canada's Niagara Falls area is seen. The two sides are connected by the Niagara Falls International Rainbow Bridge, referred to as the Rainbow Bridge, opened in 1941.
