Truckee Marsh Open Water One of the Upper Truckee Marsh channels is close to meeting up with Lake Tahoe in the California, USA city of South Lake Tahoe. The Upper Truckee Marsh has a number of water channels and the Upper Truckee River, flowing toward the lake. The marsh, one of the Sierra Nevada’s largest wetlands, is comprised of over six-hundred acres in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

It sits just over 6,200 feet above sea level and measures 22 miles long, 12 miles wide, with about 72 miles of shoreline. Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, the pristine lake with crystal water lies about two-thirds in California and one-third Nevada.
